The Thread: Act IX - Scene Two

Looking at Damselblue's photos
once again, Mrs. Birdfish thought
about what LadyOctopus said ...

"... the piece on the far right
also looks like it may have some
tunnels and more open shape,
but Damselblue says that is the
nice side showing and that it
is a really dense, heavy,
flat structure on all the
other three sides." ...

Damselblue's Live Rock

... and her eyes
were once again drawn to
that piece of live rock ...

Damselblue's Live Rock

As she gazed at the photos, in her mind,
she saw what may have looked like a nice
show piece with a very unique shape.

She understood that there was not
as much variety in the shapes and sizes
as Damselblue would have preferred,
but she wondered if it could be that
Damselblue, being a new hobbyist,
did not realize the potential of some
of the pieces she had received.

Her mind wandered to some of
the comments made by others regarding
Damselblue's live rock ...

reefdrum Once you aquascape it
a bit it's going to look fantastic ...

Watchman Nice big porous looking pieces ...

Voice of Reason I agree ..."nice big show pieces,"
no doubt they are some physically
good-looking pieces...

She just couldn't understand it.

Then, she noticed something in the photo
where Damselblue had taken a picture of
the bottoms of the rocks on the left-hand
side of her tank, and there in the background
was another side of this piece of live rock.
It was partially hidden, but she did her
best to see beyond the other pieces ...

Looking Beyond

... and she took a closer look ...

Looking Closer

This is when she saw that there were
actually two cave openings ...
heavy and dense indeed!

And, so she answered her question
as to how this piece could be "flat" on
the other sides and she couldn't help
but wonder what they really looked like.
